Bancho Bar is a vibrant, intimate venue located in the heart of Haymarket. We are known for our great drinks, welcoming atmosphere, and a curated, streamlined food menu. Our kitchen operations are highly efficient, focused primarily on quality dry dishes and cooktop-based menu items.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Sole Cook / Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen operations. Because you will be running the kitchen independently during your shifts, this role is perfect for someone who loves autonomy, takes immense pride in their workspace, and thrives without constant supervision.
While our menu is straightforward and easy to manage, you will be responsible for the entire kitchen lifecycle from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Kitchen Management: Handling all opening prep, live service, pack-down, and deep cleaning (including dishes).
- Independent Execution: Managing your time efficiently to ensure seamless service during peak periods.
- Quality Control: Ensuring consistent, high-quality presentation of our current menu items.
- Menu Collaboration: Bringing your own creativity to the table! We offer the flexibility to experiment, develop, and test new dishes to feature on the menu.
What We Are Looking For
- High Initiative: You are a self-starter who sees what needs to be done and does it without being asked.
- Organised & Clean: Because you are running the show alone, maintaining a clean, systematic station is second nature to you.
- Reliability: You are punctual, trustworthy, and capable of working solo.
- Experience: Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is required, but a positive attitude and strong work ethic matter most. Full training on our specific menu will be provided.
