Position Title Casual Primary Teacher’s Aide

Department Primary School

Award/Agreement Remuneration, duties and conditions will be as per the Independent
Schools NSW Standards Model Operations and Support Agreement 2021
(or as revised).

Status Casual

Reporting To Primary Stage Leaders

Key Working Primary Stage Leader Coordinators, Primary Teachers and Aide staff,
Relationships Administration staff including the Head of Admin & Finance

Role Summary

As part of the College’s overall commitment to the education of every child, the Teachers’ Aide works

closely to support the teachers and students. They assist with the implementation of teaching and

learning programs in the classroom. They also assist with the supervision of students in the

playground.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise, support and work with classroom Teachers.

Work closely with the classroom teacher to make adjustments to learning in the classroom.

Preparation of resources and materials as directed by the classroom teacher.

Support students with their literacy, numeracy, and social skill development.

Assist students with specific needs in class and during break times as required.

Perform general cleaning, clerical assistance and other classroom duties as required and/or

by the teacher.

Supervise students as part of the playground duty roster.

Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, working effectively within a team.

Possess technical competencies required for the position.

Perform complex duties with only limited instructions.

Develop and maintain a good rapport with children and their families.

Fulfil other duties as required by the Principal.

Essential Skills and Attributes

Have a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and regularly attend a Christian

church.

Accept Penrith Anglican College’s Statement of Faith and live a lifestyle consistent with this.

Have experience as a Teacher’s Aide.

Have a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services.

Have a valid WWCC number.

Child Safety

protection legislation and ensure that the College’s Child Safety policies and procedures are always

implemented. Education has an important role in supporting children and young people and

staff have a responsibility to report risk of harm concerns about children and young people within their

roles and to provide support to children and young people.

their discretion, vary these responsibilities as required by the College's learning, wellbeing, cultural,

community and administrative requirements.
