Upton Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our team. UEM utilises advanced CNC technology and fabrication services to provide high quality service for customers in various industry sectors including aerospace, defence, mining, alumina/smelter Refineries, oil, gas, ports, government infrastructure projects and motorsports.
The successful candidate will need to program, set-up and run machines, ensuring peak productivity and quality output. We have a variety of CNC mills and lathes including Okuma, Mazak, Alpha, and Makino. Our machinists will all have a high regard for quality and safety and understand the importance of following company policies and procedures to maintain this standard.
No more night shifts. No more missing family time. Just a steady dayshift roster designed for balance. The roster operates on a rotating cycle of 4 and 5.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Operate CNC Machines, either Mills or Lathes, to produce parts as per specifications
- Be competent in programming & setting up CNC Machines
- Read and interpret technical specs and drawings
- Competent in the use of measuring equipment to achieve required tolerances
- Perform calculations and measurements to high accuracy
- Adhere to UEM’s quality and safety management systems
- Ability to complete in process & final inspections using precision measuring equipment
- High skill level with computers
Skills and Experience:
- Trade certificate (Fitter and Machinist)
- High level of detail and accuracy
- High level of safety awareness
- 5 axis machining experience highly regarded
- CAD/CAM programming experience (desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of, and adherence to Quality systems – ISO9001 & AS9100
