Conveniently located in beautiful Cotton Tree (between Maroochydore & Mooloolaba), The Silva Spoon is one of the Sunshine Coast's most loved tea houses, known for exceptional service, premium loose-leaf teas, beautiful breakfasts and lunches, and an elegant, welcoming atmosphere.
We're looking for an enthusiastic Hospitality All-Rounder to join our friendly team.
This is a genuinely varied hospitality role where you'll work across both Front of House and Back of House. Depending on the day's roster, you may be welcoming guests and serving our customers, preparing coffees and teas, helping with food preparation, plating meals, washing dishes or maintaining our kitchen. We believe everyone is part of one team, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in every task and is happy to work wherever they're needed.
We're open 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays, offering flexible hours and a supportive team environment.
We're currently looking for someone who can work between 7:30am and 4:30pm. We roster fortnightly, with approximately 40–50 hours per fortnight, although additional hours may be available during busy periods.
About the Role
You'll rotate between front and back of house responsibilities depending on the cafe needs, giving you the opportunity to develop a broad range of hospitality skills while helping deliver an exceptional customer experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting customers and delivering friendly, professional service
- Taking orders and processing payments through our POS system
- Preparing and serving tea, coffee and other beverages
- Running food and beverages to tables
- Assisting with food preparation and plating
- Washing dishes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
- Cleaning and maintaining both front and back of house areas
- Restocking supplies and preparing the venue for service
- Following food safety, allergen and workplace health & safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
What We're Looking For
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Barista experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Comfortable working across both customer service and kitchen duties
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work efficiently during busy service periods
- Pride in presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail
- An interest in tea or specialty beverages is a bonus—we'll happily teach you.
