Job Description
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will join a collaborative and high-performing payroll team responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and customer-focused payroll services across a large and diverse organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex payroll matters, and is passionate about delivering exceptional service. You will play a key role in the end-to-end processing of a large fortnightly payroll while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the employee experience and strengthen payroll operations.

What You'll Bring to the Role
You are a knowledgeable and proactive payroll professional with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. You enjoy working collaboratively, building positive stakeholder relationships, and using your expertise to navigate and resolve complex payroll issues.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Demonstrated experience in a senior payroll or payroll-related position, with strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing and contemporary payroll legislation.

A sound understanding of employment conditions, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, leave entitlements, taxation, superannuation, and statutory payroll obligations.

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, compliant, and high-quality payroll outcomes.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines within a complex and fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate, interpret, and resolve complex payroll matters.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-focused approach to supporting employees, leaders, and colleagues.

The ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and business functions.

A continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying opportunities to enhance payroll processes, efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.

Experience working within a large, complex organisation will be highly regarded.

Exposure to PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise HR and payroll systems will be advantageous.

We have continuing and fixed-term opportunities based at Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Salary
HEW 6 - Base range - $94,966.18 - $101,295.51 + 17% superannuation. Full package range - $111,110.42 - $118,515.75.
