Female Disability Support Worker – Casual
Best Support is seeking experienced and reliable female Disability Support Workers to support participants across Melbourne.
The role may involve supporting participants with intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, mental health needs and behaviours of concern. Duties include personal care, community access, attending appointments, meal preparation, household tasks and assistance with daily living activities.
Applicants must be confident working independently, communicating professionally and providing safe, respectful and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily living assistance
- Support participants with community access and appointments
- Prepare meals and assist with household tasks
- Transport participants safely in your own vehicle
- Follow individual support plans and behaviour-support strategies
- Respond calmly and safely to behaviours of concern
- Maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality
- Complete accurate progress notes and incident reports
- Confident to drive in city.
- Promote participant choice, dignity, independence and wellbeing
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting people with disability or behaviours of concern
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Confidence driving in Melbourne city and surrounding areas
- Valid Australian working rights
- Smartphone and ability to complete electronic shift notes
- Availability to work flexible hours.
Desirable Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification
- Infection prevention and control training
- Supporting Effective Communication module
- Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals module
