About the Role
We are seeking a qualified, reliable, and compassionate Bilingual Support Worker (Arabic/English) to join our home care team in the Southwest Region.
In this role, you will provide vital care and companionship to Arabic-speaking clients, ensuring they receive culturally respectful, high-quality support that promotes their independence, well-being, and community connection. Your ability to communicate fluently in Arabic will be key to building deep trust and breaking down social isolation for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Culturally Centred Companionship: Providing fluent Arabic conversation and meaningful engagement that respects our clients' cultural traditions and values.
Personal Care Support: Assisting with daily routines, including showering, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene with respect and dignity.
Domestic Assistance: Helping with light cleaning, laundry, organization, and maintaining a hygienic home environment.
Meal Preparation: Assisting with healthy meal planning and cooking (including culturally familiar meals if requested).
Transport & Community Access: Driving clients to medical appointments, community hubs, religious services, or social groups.
Schedule & Availability
We have an array of shifts available across weekdays and weekends.
Candidates with great availability (e.g., open to mornings, afternoons, or consistent recurring rosters) will be highly prioritised.
Requirements & Qualifications
Language Skills: Fluent communication skills in both Arabic and English (essential).
Qualifications: Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support, Disability, or equivalent community services qualification.
Licence & Transit: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence with a reliable, clean, and comprehensively insured vehicle (required for client transport services).
Compliance Checks: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or National Police Check (or willingness to obtain immediately).
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
Demonstrated experience in safe manual handling practices.
Working rights in Australia.
