The Role
You will work on diverse boutique residential projects, being responsible to plan, construct and establish garden landscapes in accordance with approved landscape plans and specifications.
Job Duties:
Landscape Planning
- Interpret approved landscape plans, drawings and specifications, prepare site set-out information, select suitable landscape materials and plant stock, and schedule landscape construction activities.
Site Preparation
- Prepare landscape sites for construction and planting by clearing designated areas, undertaking excavation, grading and levelling surfaces, improving soil conditions, and preparing garden beds and turf areas.
- Set out and install hard and soft landscape works in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
Hard Landscaping
- Prepare subgrades and finished levels, and wet-lay natural stone, crazy paving and modular pavements, including set-out, marking, cutting and grouting.
- Set out and install steel edging, including cutting, securing and fixing, with minor welding where required.
- Prepare and construct concrete footings for landscape features, ensuring correct heights, reinforcement and finished levels in accordance with project specifications.
Soft Landscaping
- Select, set out and plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plant material in accordance with landscape designs, site conditions and horticultural requirements.
- Prepare garden beds and turf areas by conditioning soils, applying fertilisers, and laying instant turf to achieve the required landscape finish.
Landscape Irrigation
- Install landscape irrigation systems in accordance with approved landscape plans and specifications, including wiring, controllers, solenoids, pipework, pop-up sprinklers, nozzles and subsurface irrigation systems.
- Inspect, adjust and repair landscape irrigation systems to ensure the effective watering, establishment and ongoing health of lawns, gardens, trees and landscaped areas.
Materials and Resource Management
- Measure work areas and estimate quantities of soil, mulch, turf, plants, paving materials and other landscape supplies.
- Organise materials, equipment and resources required for the efficient completion of landscaping projects.
Plant, Equipment and Safety
- Safely operate and carry out routine pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of landscaping machinery, plant, hand tools and specialised equipment used for landscape construction and installation works.
- Carry out all landscaping work in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental controls, waste management practices and company policies.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect completed landscape works against approved plans and specifications, identify defects or plant establishment issues, and carry out remedial works within the scope of the position.
Requirements:
- Minimum AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the- job training, or AQF Certificate IV.
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant work experience is a must.

- Experience: Prior experience in soft and hard landscaping.
- Reliability: Ability to work full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality landscapes
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform outdoor manual work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
