What you’ll do :
We’re looking for a sharp, commercially minded Marketplace Customer and Trade Plan Manager to take full ownership of our digital trade calendar. As our lead digital merchant, you’ll pull the levers on ranging, pricing, and promotions to hit the mark during key seasonal and food moments. Standing up to heavyweights like Amazon, eBay, and Aldi requires real agility, deep food-retail instincts, and flawless execution. Ultimately, you'll optimize the entire online customer journey and make sure every strategic tweak translates into bottom-line marketplace growth.
Master seasonal food moments: Partner on the digital trade calendar to align ranging, pricing, and messaging with key seasonal spikes like Christmas, Easter, and Summer BBQs.
Capitalize on customer intent: Work alongside Marketing and Brand to land the right message at the precise moment shopping intent peaks, from Prime Day to seasonal surges.
Execute agile pivots: Quickly adapt trade plans on the fly to respond to sudden weather events, viral food trends, or unexpected shifts in buying behavior.
Outmaneuver retail giants: Build counter-strategies against competitors leveraging local sourcing, freshness, and smart meal bundles to protect market share.
Exploit market gaps: Spot missing links in competitor offerings and capitalize on them with exclusive digital ranges and high-value, online-only promotions.
Optimize digital merchandising: Dynamic-price and curate the online catalog to boost basket sizes through intuitive product bundling, multi-buys, and targeted flash sales.
Maximize platform capabilities: Push eCommerce tools to their limits by using personalized landing pages, search boosting, and targeted banners to elevate promotional impact.
Refine UX with data: Partner with UX and Product teams, using analytics like GA4 and heatmaps to ensure every campaign runs through a frictionless, high-converting journey
What you’ll bring :
You are a commercial, digital-first merchant who naturally connects retail strategy with online execution. You know retail math inside and out, keeping a sharp eye on margins, markdowns, basket penetration, and campaign profitability.
5+ years in digital eCommerce: Proven background in eCommerce Trading, Digital Merchandising, or Commercial Retail Planning, ideally in FMCG, Grocery, or Food & Beverage.
Promotional calendar mastery: Track record of driving high-volume online promotional plans that deliver measurable revenue and margin growth.
Competitive strategy expertise: Hands-on experience building agile tactics to compete directly with marketplace giants (Amazon, eBay) and hard discounters (Aldi).
Commercial & analytical rigor: Deep understanding of retail math, margins, markdowns, and basket penetration to maximize campaign profitability.
Platform & UX fluency: Tech-savvy practitioner comfortable navigating CMS, PIM, and analytics tools (e.g., GA4) to deliver frictionless customer journeys.
What you’ll experience:
A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus paid superannuation for up to 12 months while the Team Member is on parental leave - eligible from the first day of employment.
A range of programs to help you prioritise and manage your wellbeing, including 24/7 access to the Sonder app. A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you.
