Location: Parramatta/Gosford (please note attendance is required in Parramatta once per week for a full team landing day). Other locations may be considered.

What’s the job?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NSW Fair Trading’s Disciplinary Action Unit for a Senior Disciplinary Officer. This role will suit a lawyer or policy officer with practical experience or a person who has deep skills in statutory analysis and drafting. This position carries out processes to initiate and conclude disciplinary proceedings under the legislation administered by NSW Fair Trading.
Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing briefs of evidence and submissions to make recommendations for disciplinary action

Preparing Notices to Show Cause and Notices of Decision about whether to take disciplinary action

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including investigators, inspectors, legal officers, counsel and the executive

Maintaining statistical data, records and outcomes and providing timely and accurate reporting of disciplinary action undertaken
To be successful in this role you will have:
-
Legal qualifications or other relevant experience including the ability to understand legislation and apply it

An understanding of or experience in reviewing investigation reports and evidence

Excellent legal drafting skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

Knowledge of the principles of procedural fairness and natural justice

Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe products
