About the position
The Project Support Officer will provide high-level project management and administrative support to Council’s key strategic and economic projects which contribute to the delivery of legislative and policy reform, land use outcomes, and investment attraction activities to drive economic resilience in a changing regional economy.
The position is responsible for coordinating and managing budget, procurement and governance requirements and assisting to monitor and track project deliverables and milestones to ensure that Council meets its project and contractual objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level project management support to the Economic Investment Directorate, contributing to the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic and economic initiatives aligned with Council objectives
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with government agencies, industry partners, and internal stakeholders, to support collaboration and successful project outcomes
- Coordinate project governance processes, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and monitoring and following up on action items to ensure timely delivery and accountability
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including risk and issue registers, ensuring all activities comply with relevant funding agreements, reporting obligations, and governance requirement.
- Deliver financial and procurement administration, including tracking project expenditure, processing invoices, raising purchase orders, supporting budget reconciliation, and undertaking procurement and contract administration activities
- Support project communications and stakeholder engagement, working collaboratively with Council’s communications team to implement communication plans and providing a high level of customer service as a key point of contact
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in business or project management, or a minimum 3 years’ experience in project management or administrative roles relevant to the requirements of the position
- Demonstrated highly developed verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly in Excel for data/budget tracking, and familiarity with project management software
- A current NSW Drivers License

- Salary from $87,349 to $98,700 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
