The Opportunity
As an Activity Approvals Officer for Events at the City of Perth you will support exciting events and activities across Perth by streamlining approvals, managing risk, and helping bring the City’s 2026 Events Strategy to life
Reporting to the Coordinator Activity Approvals within our City Events team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Providing a concierge-style service as the key contact for event, trading and activation enquiries.
- Assessing and coordinating applications to ensure timely, compliant approvals aligned with the Events Strategy.
- Administer statutory requirements including local laws, traffic management and parking policy.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes while supporting collaboration across the City.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience managing or supporting outdoor events, festivals and activations, with a strong understanding of the Perth and WA events landscape.
- Knowledge of traffic management and risk management practices to enable safe, compliant events in the public realm.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management.
- Strong project management capability, with flexibility to work weekends to support and inspect third-party events.
