You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
This is a modern laboratory with a positive culture and a high performing team, so qualities of resilience, well-developed communication skills and ability to contribute positively to a team environment are essential. (Central Specimen Reception Team > 50 staff)
Experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pathology pre-analytical processes, e.g. sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, storage, retrieval of specimens etc, in a large and complex core laboratory unit.
Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail, ability to focus in a busy, complex environment.
Highly developed customer focus with experience dealing with a variety of people and a high level of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience.
Understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
Awareness of the human resource management policies applicable to contemporary workplaces.
