We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our dry and cold storage warehouse. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational leadership with administrative responsibilities. You will be responsible for managing warehouse staff, inventory, compliance, customer requirements, and the overall performance of the warehouse.

About the Role
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will take ownership of all warehouse functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of both our dry and refrigerated storage facilities.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse across both dry and cold storage.
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound freight.
- Ensure freight is received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate stock control and inventory management.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and cycle counts.
- Ensure all freight is stored safely and correctly according to customer and product requirements.
- Coordinate loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Manage warehouse equipment and report maintenance requirements.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, mentor and support warehouse staff.
- Allocate daily workloads and monitor team performance.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive, professional and safety-focused culture.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of new employees.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and ongoing staff coaching.
- Identify training needs and support employee development.
- Manage employee attendance and performance where required.
Administration
- Complete all warehouse administration accurately and on time.
- Process receivables and dispatch documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Update warehouse management systems and transport management systems (TMS).
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance, stock movements and operational KPIs.
- Liaise with customers, transport providers and internal departments regarding warehouse activities.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve operational issues.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, DAFF, and cold chain and storage requirements.
- Conduct regular warehouse safety inspections.
- Manage incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Ensure all staff follow safe operating procedures.
- Assist with audits and maintain warehouse compliance documentation.
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant will possess:
Essential
- Current LF Forklift Licence.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team.
- Experience working within transport, warehousing or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory management.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and warehouse management software.
- Confident using tablets, scanners, handheld devices and other electronic equipment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve and make sound operational decisions.
- A proactive and hands-on approach.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within refrigerated transport or cold chain logistics.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety or temperature-controlled storage requirements.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
