About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to provide senior operational leadership across Thrive Medical’s medical practice operations.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for leading and developing Medical Reception and Administration teams, optimising practice systems and workflows, enhancing patient experience, and ensuring our administrative functions effectively support General Practitioners and Allied Health providers.
The Practice Manager will be a visible and engaged leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership. This role requires someone who can build strong teams, improve processes, support clinicians, and drive a culture of excellence across the practice.
This is a senior salaried leadership position requiring strong judgement, initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Medical Reception team.
- Support General Practitioners and Allied Health providers through effective systems, scheduling, onboarding, and administrative processes.
- Oversee patient experience, reception operations, and administrative workflows.
- Maintain oversight of Best Practice systems, workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee billing processes, compliance requirements, and operational reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and team capability.
- Provide operational leadership, advice, and support to the Chief Executive Officer.
About You
You are an experienced healthcare leader with strong operational capability and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
You will bring:
- Experience managing healthcare administration, medical practice operations, or a similar complex service environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience developing and supporting teams.
- Strong understanding of General Practice workflows, reception operations, and patient experience.
- Experience with practice management systems, preferably Best Practice.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clinicians, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism, initiative, and sound judgement.
Desirable
- Previous Practice Manager experience.
- Experience supporting General Practice and Allied Health services.
- Practice Management qualification or equivalent.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. AAPM).
- Experience with quality improvement and healthcare governance.
