About Heidelberg Materials Australia
Heidelberg Materials Australia is a leading organisation in the construction materials industry, with more than 4,000 employees across 300 sites nationwide. We produce high-quality concrete, aggregates, road base, sand, and asphalt that help build Australia’s homes, roads, and communities.
At Heidelberg, we believe great work happens when people feel supported, included, and given the opportunity to grow. Our strong national network, combined with global expertise, allows us to deliver meaningful work and long-term careers.
Where your growth matters
Our 2-year rotational Management Development Program (MDP) is designed to support your learning and development across a range of business areas, including operations, leadership, and strategy.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across our sites while being supported by experienced leaders who will guide and mentor you throughout your journey. This is a program where you can build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore where your strengths and interests lie.
Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Learn how our concrete plants and quarries operate
- Work alongside production and operational teams
- Contribute to planning, budgeting, and business improvement initiatives
- Experience both metropolitan and regional locations across Australia
Every day will be different, and you’ll be encouraged to bring your perspective, ask questions, and learn at your own pace.
Why join our MDP?
We are proud of our strong culture of developing our people.
Around 80% of our senior leaders began their careers through this program, including our CEO. Many of our graduates build long-term careers with us, supported by ongoing development, career pathways, and leadership opportunities.
By the end of the program, you’ll have gained a well-rounded understanding of our business and feel confident stepping into your next role.
