We are recruiting an Experienced Home Care Disability Support Worker with extensive experience supporting NDIS participants who present with significant and complex support needs, including multifaceted medical and complex behavioral challenges.
Applicants must be capable of working within a high‑risk, high‑responsibility environment where clinical awareness, behavioral insight, and professional maturity, delivered in line with established plans and best‑practice frameworks.
This role is suited only to workers who are experienced, confident, and skilled in complex care, and who can maintain stability, safety, calmness and dignity in dynamic situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care - showering, dressing, continence, meal assistance
- Domestic Duties - light house duties such as dishes, changing and making bed, tidying up
- Transport - assisting with transport to and from activities Community Access - supporting the participant to access activities and experiences in the community
- Medication Management - assistance with managing, recording and administering medications
- Behaviour Support - support to manage and de-escalate complex behaviours of concern, adhering to protocols outlined in BSP. Documenting restrictive practice, incident reporting and shift notes.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviors of concern.
- Current First Aid & CPR.
- Valid WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Full, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Reliable, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Strong clinical awareness, behavioral insight, and advanced communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, analytical, and professional in unpredictable or high‑pressure environments.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, or related field.
- Training in Positive Behaviour Support, trauma‑informed practice, or restrictive practice awareness.
- Experience with high‑intensity supports.
Shift Vacancies:
Monday: 7am - 9am
Friday: 7am - 9am
Friday: 3:30pm - 7pm
Sunday: 9am - 4pm
Weekends are only offered to those who will also cover short shifts during the week. Then there is school holidays where we need day shifts.
Pay: $38.00 – $41.00 per hour
