We're looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our payroll team during an exciting period of transformation.
Supporting our Head of Payroll and Payroll Project Implementation Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring our payroll expertise is embedded throughout the implementation of a new payroll solution. Drawing on your strong operational payroll knowledge, you'll help validate processes, support testing activities, provide award and compliance expertise, and contribute to the successful delivery of the project.
This role is ideal for an experienced Payroll Officer or Senior Payroll Officer who enjoys working in complex payroll environments and is keen to be involved in a major payroll transformation. Previous implementation experience is welcome but not essential – we're equally interested in payroll professionals with strong technical payroll knowledge, a continuous improvement mindset, and a willingness to learn.

Providing guidance on Awards, Enterprise Agreements, payroll legislation, tax and superannuation requirements.

Supporting payroll process design, system configuration validation and payroll compliance activities.

Participating in testing activities, including system testing, user acceptance testing and parallel payroll runs.

Reviewing payroll data, reconciliations and payroll outcomes to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Assisting with data readiness, payroll reporting and validation activities.

Supporting go-live readiness, payroll cutover activities and post-implementation support.

Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance payroll efficiency and employee experience.

Working closely with Payroll, People & Culture, Finance and project stakeholders across the business.

Strong end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.

Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation and payroll tax obligations.

Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements in a complex payroll environment.

High attention to detail and a strong focus on payroll accuracy and compliance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across business functions.

A proactive mindset and interest in improving payroll processes and systems.
Highly Regarded

Exposure to payroll system implementations, upgrades or transformation projects.

Experience working within a multi-entity or large-scale payroll environment.

Experience supporting payroll testing, reconciliations or process improvement initiatives.
