About the role
To provide an expert nurse led clinical service (including advice to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals) related to the Direct Access and Fast Track Colonoscopy facilities.
Assessment of referrals for positive Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) and general colonoscopy, triage those identified as high risk, conduct phone interviews and face to face clinics to prepare patients for endoscopy enabling direct access/ fast track colonoscopy.
To provide support and clinical service related to the Advanced Endoscopy service. The position may require working in association with the medical clinical lead.
Provide timely assessment, care co-ordination, education and follow-up of patients.
Collate and prepare reports related to key performance indicators as defined in the Colonoscopy Clinical Care Standards (ACSQHC).
About you
Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
Minimum 4 years post graduate experience, preferably in the specialty field of Gastroenterology/Endoscopy or experience deemed appropriate to the role.
A proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilization of evidence-based practice.
Demonstrated understanding of the needs of consumers from a range of diverse cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds and ability to engage consumers.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritise competing work requirements across a variety of settings.
