The Corporate Advisory Director will lead a portfolio of corporate‑advisory engagements, providing strategic and transactional advice to mid‑market and large‑enterprises. You will oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of services including M&A advisory, restructuring, capital‑raising, business valuation, and strategic reviews, while also helping to grow the practice and mentor junior advisory professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Engagement Leadership
- Lead and manage a portfolio of corporate advisory clients, including owners, boards, and senior management, providing strategic guidance on growth, restructuring, and ownership transitions.
- Oversee the delivery of M&A advisory, buy‑side/sell‑side support, business valuations, and capital‑raising advisory for domestic and cross‑border mandates.
- Present analysis, recommendations, and transaction structures to executives and non‑executive stakeholders in clear, decision‑ready formats.
Deal Origination & Practice Growth
- Build and nurture relationships with business owners, management, and intermediaries to generate new mandates and cross‑sell into the broader advisory and audit/tax ecosystem.
- Develop and deliver pitch decks, capability statements, and market‑insight pieces that position the firm as a leading corporate‑advisory provider.
- Support marketing, thought‑leadership, and networking initiatives to expand the firm’s brand and market share.
Project & Team Management
- Assign and supervise teams of managers, senior consultants, and analysts on live engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.
- Conduct regular quality‑review sessions, issue escalation, and risk‑management discussions on complex or high‑value mandates.
- Ensure adherence to internal standards, professional‑conduct requirements, and regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Strategic & Restructuring Support
- Lead strategic reviews, turnaround plans, and restructuring projects for underperforming businesses, including cash‑flow analysis, feasibility assessments, and recovery options.
- Advise on transaction‑structure, tax‑implications, and governance issues, coordinating with in‑house and external specialists as needed.
- Support post‑deal integration or separation efforts where relevant.
Knowledge & Governance
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of methodologies, models, templates, and diagnostics used across the corporate‑advisory team.
- Monitor market and regulatory developments and ensure the practice adapts to changes in corporate governance, insolvency, and M&A landscape.
- Participate in internal governance forums and risk‑oversight committees for high‑profile engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CA/CPA, CFA, or MBA a strong advantage.
Professional Background
- 10–15+ years of experience in corporate finance, M&A advisory, business restructuring, or transaction‑services within professional services, boutique advisory, or investment‑banking‑derived environments.
- Proven track record of leading end‑to‑end advisory and M&A engagements, including client engagement, due diligence, and execution.
- Evidence of business‑development skills, including winning new work and expanding the client base.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial‑modeling, valuation, and scenario‑analysis skills; familiarity with M&A deal‑structures and capital‑raising options.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with experience advising senior‑management and board‑level clients.
- Project‑management and team‑leadership capabilities, able to manage multiple deadlines and diverse stakeholder expectations.
- Comfortable working in a high‑pressure, dynamic advisory environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
Pay: $110.00 – $140.00 per hour
