The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join a collaborative team supporting the National Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) monitoring and evaluation program of work. The position will contribute to projects under the National RSV Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, including the evaluation of the processes, outcomes and impacts of the RSV Maternal and Infant Protection Program (RSV MIPP). Working under the direction of the Lead of the Tender and Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the role will contribute to research activities and reporting for the Commonwealth Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
The position offers the opportunity to undertake research both collaboratively and independently, including research design, advanced research procedures and preparation of reports, publications and conference papers. The role will also contribute to research-related teaching, provide advice to postgraduate students and participate in relevant research and professional activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a research-focused academic with an honours degree or higher qualification and/or progress towards a doctorate, or a doctoral qualification, in a relevant discipline. The position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and organisational skills, experience in manuscript or report preparation and clear communication skills. An understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling, collaborative working practices and strong computer literacy is also required.
