Lead the clinical direction of ACRRM’s rural generalist training program.
ACRRM is seeking an experienced and passionate FACRRM to join our Education Services team as National Director of Training – Clinical (NDOT).
This is a senior clinical and academic leadership role with national responsibility for the strategic clinical oversight and delivery of the clinical elements of ACRRM’s Rural Generalist (RG) Fellowship Program. Reporting to the Training Network Manager, the NDOT will provide clinical leadership across the national and regional medical education teams and play a key role in strengthening the quality, consistency and outcomes of ACRRM’s RG Fellowship Program.
The role will suit a skilled FACRRM with extensive medical education and leadership experience, a strong understanding of the ACRRM RG Fellowship Program and a commitment to the future of Rural Generalist Medicine.
About ACRRM
The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is an accredited specialist medical college responsible for setting and maintaining professional standards for specialist general practitioners and Rural Generalists in Australia.
With more than 6,000 members, ACRRM supports doctors who live and work in rural, remote and First Nations communities across Australia. Our members provide care across diverse settings, including general practices, hospitals, emergency departments, Aboriginal health services and other remote environments.
About the role
As National Director of Training – Clinical, you will provide national clinical leadership and oversight of the ACRRM Fellowship Program, with a focus on:
- Providing national clinical leadership for ACRRM training program requirements.
- Driving national consistency and quality uplift across education and training.
- Providing national oversight of registrar remediation and pastoral care requirements.
- Ensuring the training program is designed and delivered to achieve its intended outcomes.
- Providing clinical advice and guidance to Regional Directors of Training and National Lead Medical Educators.
- Developing and reviewing training standards, policies and guidance.
- Leading the Registrar Review Panel and providing clinical leadership on relevant selection and accreditation committees.
- Contributing to the future development of ACRRM Fellowship scope.
- Leading the development and delivery of principles for registrar progression through training.
- Undertaking delegated censorial duties in accordance with the Training Delegations Policy.
- Representing ACRRM with key stakeholders to promote and strengthen the ACRRM RG Fellowship Program.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of education programs, ensuring learning outcomes are appropriately aligned with the curriculum and that objectives, activities and assessment are integrated effectively.
About you
- You will be a senior clinician and leader with:
- Full, unconditional medical registration with AHPRA.
- Specialist registration in General Practice and current clinical practice.
- Experience and understanding of medical education in a rural context.
- A strong understanding of the ACRRM RG Fellowship Program.
- A demonstrated interest and experience in teaching and training.
- Experience managing and leading teams.
You will be an effective communicator and collaborative leader who can engage diverse teams, manage competing priorities, have difficult conversations when required, and take ownership of outcomes. You will also demonstrate a commitment to developing the capability of others through mentoring, training and meaningful development conversations.
