This is a fantastic role for an experienced Building Estimator within residential, or a Carpenter who has done estimates/quotes, to work as a Building Estimator and commence your career in our Estimating team.
Reporting to the BOQ Manager, Building Estimating Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate bill of quantities for builds

Troubleshooting potential site issues

Ensuring production work is carried out in a timely manner

Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Metricon products, services and processes to deal confidently with all stakeholders

Identify anomalies in standard BOQ’s and arrange for them to be amended and amendments recorded in masters
- Checking invoices that exceed contract budgets to avoid margin erosion

Ensuring relationships with internal and external customers, supervisors, suppliers, trades people, agents and contractors are maintained and improved

The successful candidate will have:
- At minimum a Diploma in Building Construction is essential, a degree in an equivalent course is of added advantage.

1-2 years’ experience Building Estimating in residential construction

Reasonable trade background is an advantage.

Working knowledge of construction processes and details.

Competent Microsoft Office suite computer skills, particularly in Excel.

Working knowledge of an estimating system (Business Craft, Timberline and WMS would be advantageous)
