About the Role
Smokehouse Meat & Co Grill & Bar is looking for an experienced and passionate Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team at our Southbank location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality pizzas while maintaining consistency, presentation, and excellent food standards. We are looking for a skilled pizza professional who has a strong understanding of dough preparation, pizza cooking techniques, toppings, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, stretch, and shape pizza dough to the required standards.
- Prepare and organise pizza toppings, sauces, and ingredients.
- Cook pizzas to a consistently high standard with excellent presentation.
- Manage pizza preparation and cooking during busy service periods.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Monitor ingredient quality and minimise food wastage.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic pizza station.
- Operate and maintain pizza ovens and kitchen equipment safely.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Assist with stock control and kitchen preparation when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of pizza dough preparation and cooking techniques.
- Experience working with commercial pizza ovens.
- Excellent understanding of pizza preparation, toppings, sauces, and ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
