About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager and Construction Manager, the Contract Administrator will support the delivery of residential construction projects from pre construction through to handover. Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site supervisors, you will manage project documentation, administer contracts, process variations and claims, and support project teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review building contracts, project documentation and contractual obligations.
- Process and manage contract variations and change orders, including documenting impacts on scope, cost and scheduling.
- Coordinate communication between clients, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, project managers and internal stakeholders.
- Review and process contractor submittals, including documentation required to confirm compliance with project specifications and contract requirements.
- Assess and process contractor payment claims in line with completed works and contractual terms.
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, specifications, RFIs and project correspondence.
- Assist with the management and resolution of contractual issues, claims and project-related matters.
- Prepare monthly progress claims in accordance with project milestones and contractual agreements.
- Coordinate project closeout activities, including final inspections, defects, warranties and handover documentation.
- Provide contract administration support across multiple residential construction projects.
About You
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or a relevant degree in Construction Management
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience as a Contract Administrator within residential or commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of building contracts, variations, claims and construction administration processes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, correspondence and record keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client and stakeholder approach.
- Confident Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work with project documentation systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to support a growing construction team.
