In this role, you'll:
Working within our Security, Crisis and Emergency Management (SCEM) Branch at Transport for NSW, the primary purpose of our Senior SCEM Readiness and Capability Officer is to strengthen emergency management readiness and capability across the Transport enterprise through specialist exercising, lessons management and training activities.
The role supports the development, delivery and evaluation of high quality SCEM exercises, lessons management and training activities to enable evidence based capability improvement across the organisation. This includes designing and developing exercise and training materials, coordinating and supporting delivery, facilitating structured observation and data capture during and following exercises and events, analysing lessons and exercise evidence, and producing exercise reports, after action reports, lessons summaries, briefs and recommendations.
The role also contributes to the maintenance and application of SCEM standards, frameworks, tools and templates, supporting a consistent, enterprise wide approach to exercising, lessons and training.
About you
In this role you will contribute to the development and delivery of capability activities across SCEM exercising, lessons and training, including developing tools and templates, drafting exercise scenarios, injects and objectives, preparing training and support materials, and delivering exercise and training activities and capturing participant feedback.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to support the development and successful delivery of readiness and capability activities, including coordinating with operational teams, subject matter experts and external providers to ensure activities are operationally relevant, fit for purpose and aligned to SCEM standards and enterprise requirements.
You will undertake structured observation and data capture during and following exercises and events, and analyse lessons data to identify themes, prepare draft findings and recommendations and validate outcomes with various stakeholders to inform capability improvements.
You will prepare exercise reports, lessons summaries, after action reports, training materials, briefs and supporting documentation in line with established standards, governance requirements and timeframes.
You will support enterprise visibility and implementation by maintaining accurate records, registers and documentation for exercising, lessons and training activities, and supporting the tracking, monitoring and reporting of enterprise lessons and endorsed recommendations across multiple teams, divisions and portfolios.
You will also support the maintenance and monitoring of competency and currency requirements for roles associated with the SCEM readiness and capability program, ensuring personnel are prepared to perform their roles during TECCH exercises and activations.
