Your responsibilities
As the Manager, Workforce Strategy, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of workforce strategies, capability frameworks, and talent initiatives to meet current and future workforce needs.
- Provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to senior leaders on workforce strategy, capability, and talent priorities.
- Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of programs such as onboarding, succession planning, mobility programs, graduate programs, and targeted learning and development initiatives.
- Manage delivery of multiple workforce initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeframes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and embed workforce solutions that align with departmental priorities and business outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate workforce strategies and programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective implementation of workforce initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes, and submissions to inform decisionmaking on workforce strategy, capability, and talent matters.
What are we looking for?
The position requires an applicant who can:
- Demonstrate experience in designing, leading and providing expert advice on workforce strategy and capability frameworks and programs, in a complex and diverse organisational context.
- Provide clear direction and leadership to a small team, fostering a highperformance culture by offering guidance, support, and empowering team members to take ownership of their work and resolve challenges independently.
- Build and maintain strong internal and cross sector relationships, consulting effectively across the department and broader public sector, and provide strategic, practical advice to senior leaders and staff.
- Understand and apply relevant policies, practices and procedures, exercise sound judgement and decision making within a workforce strategy and capability context.
- Drive and manage multiple initiatives, balancing competing priorities and resources while ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
