The Role
We are seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic, confident and energetic individuals to undertake duties as casual Learn to Swim Instructors for our swimming centre at Richmond during the 2026/2027 pool season. Hours will vary depending on experience and availability.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrates assertive and confident demeanour, with the ability to hold children’s attention and effectively teach a class of children
- Experience working or engaging with Children
- Current Swim Australia, Austswim or Royal Life Saving Teacher’s Accreditation
- Current CPR or Pool Lifeguard Statement of Attainment Accreditation
- Minimum 17+ years old as of 1st October 2026
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) for applicants 18 and above
- Successful applicants, 18 and above, will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable Criteria
- Bronze Coaching Accreditation & Current A.S.C.T.A membership
- First Aid Certificate
- Previous experience as pool lifeguard / learn to swim instructor
- Duke of Edinburgh – Participation in the award scheme and/ or completion of Bronze Award highly regarded
