ABOUT THE MAYLANDS HOTEL

As Venue Manager, you'll lead a passionate team committed to continuous improvement, community engagement and delivering memorable experiences for every guest.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Hospitality, you'll take ownership of the venue's overall performance, leading all departments while driving operational excellence, financial performance and an outstanding customer experience.
You'll inspire your leadership team, develop future talent, and ensure every aspect of the hotel reflects high standards.

Leading all day-to-day hotel operations across Food & Beverage, Gaming and Functions

Providing leadership, coaching and development to Department Heads and Duty Managers

Overseeing the on-shift training and development of the team

Driving a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture

Managing recruitment, onboarding, performance management and succession planning

Ensuring labour, rostering and operational costs remain within budget

Preparing and managing venue budgets, forecasts and financial reporting

Driving revenue growth through promotions, marketing initiatives and community engagement

Monitoring venue profitability and identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance

Ensuring exceptional customer service standards and resolving escalated guest concerns

Maintaining presentation standards across all customer and back-of-house areas

Coordinating maintenance, repairs and asset management across the venue

Ensuring compliance with all WHS, Liquor Licensing, Gaming and legislative requirements

Managing venue security, cash handling and risk management processes

Building strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers and community organisations

Leading innovation, continuous improvement and change initiatives

Providing regular operational reporting to the General Manager of Hospitality

Extensive hospitality management experience in a multi-department venue

Proven leadership experience managing large hospitality teams

Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control

Experience in recruitment, coaching, performance management and succession planning

Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills

Strong operational knowledge across food, beverage, gaming and venue compliance

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and continuous improvement

Professional presentation with a hands-on leadership style

Extensive food, beverage and local wine knowledge
