About the role
We are looking for a qualified Chef/Cook looking for a change of pace, if you have a passion to work within the aged care sector we would love to hear from you.
About you
You will hold relevant certifications and have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Laws and Occupational Health and Safety in a kitchen environment. You will have demonstrated experience in all facets of food preparation including managing a team, menu planning, preparation of daily meals ensuring they are fresh, well-presented and appetising. Furthermore, you will possess the following:
- Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher
- Food Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) - HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 and HLTFSE007
- Experience working in a food services environment and in the supervision of staff
- Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client service
- Commitment to work as part of a team and without supervision
- Ability to be self-motivated and to promote a positive lifestyle environment
- Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
- Availability to work Saturday and Sunday each week is essential for this role
