Primary objective
Provide leadership and high-level statistical analysis and clinical liaison from within the NT Health Clinical Analytics team, across NT Health
and the Regional Health Services, whilst utilising expert knowledge and analysis to drive continuous improvements in clinical decision
making.
Context statement
Ensuring accessible, accurate and fit-for-purpose reports and expert statistical analysis, are available to support NT Health operational
and management reporting requirements. Interpreting reporting requirements from a variety of stakeholders including clinicians, front-
line managers and executive at a highly professional level. A key contributor working in and managing part of a small professional team.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide expert advice, services and engagement with NT Health clinicians, professionals and external partner organisations in the
context of delivering programs of work, identifying and resolving potential impediments to progress, and working with stakeholders
to overcome issues.
2. Provide high level advice to engage with, and work in collaboration with, internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous
improvements of clinical decision making.
3. Engage, work and collaborate with clinical staff to develop data collection and/or reporting requirements for newly established or
redesigned services within NT Health.
4. Provide leadership in and strategic development of NT Health data collection processes to ensure current and future clinical
information and management requirements are met in alignment to agreed standards.
5. Lead, manage and supervise a small, specialised data development and business analysis work unit, whilst providing expert knowledge
to develop each team member’s knowledge base.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to
ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven practical expertise using SQL-based technologies to extract information, design and generate accurate reports to specification,
and an ability to provide meaningful statistical analysis in a Health activity context, or the ability to transfer prior experience in similar
roles. Proficient in the use of R or other statistical analysis tools is essential.
2. Conceptual and problem-solving skills and proven experience researching and implementing technical solutions.
3. Demonstrated ability in leading a small, specialised team to deliver quality, customer focused outputs.
4. Demonstrated ability to use various applications and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or similar.
5. Experience working in relevant health information setting or demonstrated ability to transfer previous analytical experience into
purposeful and meaningful activity reporting.
6. Proven ability to interpret and present sensitive and complex information in a clear and concise manner, and to confidently provide
advice and explanation to executive and other stakeholders with high-level interpersonal communication skills.
7. High level communication skills, both written and verbal, and capacity to work successfully across cultural and organisational
boundaries maintaining high standards of ethics, discretion, confidentiality and accountability.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or in a Healthcare related discipline.
2. Understanding of clinical information systems used by the NT Health.
3. Understanding of data privacy principles and governance processes pertaining to complex data requests.
