The Opportunity
We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dedicated pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Slade Pharmacy, located within the state-of-the-art St John of God Bendigo Hospital.
This role offers the chance to further develop your clinical and hospital pharmacy skills while contributing to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to patients across a broad range of specialties. Through our partnership with St John of God Bendigo Hospital, you'll gain exposure to acute medical, surgical and oncology services while working as part of a collaborative pharmacy team committed to exceptional patient care.
Working alongside experienced pharmacists and technicians, you'll have the opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and contribute to meaningful patient outcomes. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred; however, pharmacists with a strong clinical foundation and a genuine interest in developing their hospital pharmacy career will also be considered.
This is a full-time, 6-month contract position, with genuine potential for extension.
In addition to developing your clinical capability, you'll have the opportunity to build your leadership skills by supporting the Pharmacy Manager and contributing to the ongoing success of the pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and effectively dispensing and distributing medication for patients in the hospital and discharging.
- Preparation and provision of discharge medication summaries.
- Offering medication counselling and education to patients.
- Conduct medication chart reviews, medication management plans (MMPs) & medication reconciliations
- Support the clinical oncology service delivery. You will receive appropriate training in accordance with your current clinical oncology skills.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide advice on patient care.
- Contributing to training and educational sessions for pharmacy staff, nursing staff, medical personnel, and allied health professionals.
About You
Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred; however, we will also consider pharmacists with strong clinical experience who are looking to transition into hospital pharmacy and further develop their clinical practice.
Key Requirements:
- General Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
- Relevant Australian or New Zealand pharmacy experience
- Ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge
