About the role:
This is a pivotal role at the heart of Unitywater’s transformation, where you’ll partner closely with leaders and teams to make change feel clear, practical and genuinely positive. As our Change Adoption Lead, you’ll help shape how change shows up across the organisation, from early visibility through to sustained adoption, ensuring our people are set up to succeed as we evolve towards our Strategic Ambition. Working within the Transformation and Change Office, you’ll combine enterprise thinking with hands-on delivery, designing and embedding approaches that build confidence, capability and lasting behaviour change.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with leaders to embed change early, building strong readiness and setting teams up for successful adoption
- Lead the change adoption design and delivery across BAU and project environments
- Champion and evolve Unitywater’s change adoption framework to create consistent, positive experiences of change
- Drive sustained adoption of new ways of working, ensuring benefits are realised and embedded over the long term

We’re looking for a Change Adoption Lead who brings both strategic thinking and practical delivery, someone who is credible with senior leaders just as much as team members, comfortable in ambiguity, and genuinely motivated to help others succeed through change. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
Must have
- Strong experience in change management roles, including leading or contributing to enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
- Proven ability to design and embed practical change frameworks, tools and capability uplift strategies
- Deep understanding of recognised change methodologies (e.g. Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter) and the ability to tailor them pragmatically
- Demonstrated delivery experience across a range of initiatives (strategic and operational), with a strong focus on benefits realisation
- Exceptional communication, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and partner effectively with leaders
- A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution — you’re just as comfortable shaping the approach as you are delivering it
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience working in complex, multi-project environments with concurrent change impacts
- A proactive, outcome-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain resilient and adaptable in evolving or ambiguous environments
- High proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
Nice to have
- Experience establishing or maturing change capability within a mid-sized organisation
- Familiarity with project/program delivery methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile) and tools such as Miro or Azure DevOps
- Experience in utilities, infrastructure, government or similarly regulated environments
- Experience coaching leaders or building change capability in others
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a genuine passion for developing others
