Our Lady of Pentecost Parish, serving the communities of Balwyn, Camberwell, Deepdene, Surrey Hills and Wattle Park, is seeking a compassionate and organised Parish Pastoral Coordinator to support parish life and pastoral ministry across the parish.
Working closely with parish leadership, volunteers, and ministry teams, this role plays an integral part in fostering a welcoming, connected, and faith-filled parish community.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support parish liturgical committees in planning and delivering liturgical celebrations across the parish.
- Serve as the primary contact and provide oversight for Parish Life Teams throughout the parish communities.
- Coordinate the Communion to the Sick ministry, working closely with ministry volunteers and liaising with aged care facilities and hospitals within parish boundaries.
- Foster positive relationships with parish group leaders, providing guidance and support to groups involved in pastoral care, hospitality, and community engagement.
- Assist with parish communications and the promotion of parish activities through established communication channels and platforms.
- Act as a Parish Safeguarding Officer, ensuring safeguarding policies, procedures, and compliance requirements are effectively implemented and monitored across the parish.
What You Bring
- A practising Catholic who supports and values the vision and direction of the Church as articulated by the Second Vatican Council.
- A strong understanding of the mission and pastoral priorities of Our Lady of Pentecost Parish, encompassing Balwyn, Camberwell, Deepdene, Surrey Hills, and Wattle Park.
- Sound knowledge of the role and importance of pastoral ministry within the life and mission of the Church.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds across the parish community.
- Experience leading and facilitating meetings, with the confidence to coordinate multiple stakeholders and volunteers.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing responsibilities independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, telephone, and reception skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with confidence using email, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.
