At Smart Choice Mechanical Pty Ltd we are seeking an experienced and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our team in East Hills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with all makes and models of vehicles and possess a strong attention to detail. You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship. Strong communication skills, the ability to work well within a team, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised workshop are key to succeeding in this role. Tasks and Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose vehicle engine and electrical faults through routine maintenance checks.
- Identify and resolve issues by repairing or replacing faulty parts, including engine assemblies, leaks, and other components.
- Carry out regular maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, and lubrication to enhance vehicle performance and functionality.
- Utilise computer systems to test and diagnose vehicle parts, while maintaining detailed and accurate records of all work performed.
- Address wear and tear by repairing or replacing damaged or defective parts.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are kept in good working condition.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, providing roadworthy certifications or recommending necessary steps to achieve roadworthiness.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic
- Certificate III or IV in Automotive (Mechanical Light Vehicle) – relevant qualifications at a minimum Certificate III or at least 3 years of work experience in lieu
- At least 1 year of work experience is required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Vast mechanical / tyre knowledge across a range of vehicle brands
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
