Founded in 2015 by Leigh Dole, Blow Bar Co is Australia's original blow dry bar — a multi-site salon group with locations across Sydney's Bronte, Balmain, Brighton and CBD. More than a salon, it's a space where clients gather, connect and leave feeling confident, supported by a team of skilled stylists delivering blow dries, extensions, upstyles and special occasion hair across a growing network of premium locations.
About the role:
We are looking for a talented and client-focused Hairdresser / Stylist to join the Blow Bar Co team. In this role you will deliver the full range of Blow Bar's signature services - from client consultations through to blowouts, upstyles, extensions and scalp treatments - while contributing to a welcoming salon environment and mentoring junior team members.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Analyse clients' hair and other physical features to determine and recommend treatments or suggest hair styles.
- Consult with client on Hair history including products used and treatments.
- Demonstrate and sell hair care products and cosmetics.
- Shampoo, rinse, condition and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid soap, or other solutions.
- Apply water, setting, straightening or waving products to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs, irons and curling irons to press, curl and straighten hair.
- Keep work stations clean and sanitize tools such as brushes and combs.
- Comb, brush, and spray hair or wigs to set style.
- Develop new styles and techniques.
- Use Hairdressing products and equipment in line with manufacturer’s directions.
- Administer therapeutic treatment and advise Client to seek medical treatment for chronic or contagious scalp conditions.
- Massage and treat scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes, using hands, fingers, or vibrating equipment.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior employees, trainees and apprentices.
- Provide advice on and sell cosmetic products
- Use products and equipment in line with manufacturer’s directions
- Update and maintain customer information records/history, such as services provided.
- Having product knowledge to upsell.
- Having full knowledge of the services & Menu.
Additional Duties:
- Answering the phone, emails and messages.
- Making a booking, group bookings, function bookings, event bookings.
- Processing a sale, processing a cancelation.
- Confirming appointments
- Completing orders
- Comb, brush, and spray hair.
- Resupply retail displays if products are sold and general tidiness.
- Ensure all deliveries are complete and products are packed and stored appropriately.
- Ensure kitchen and salon supplies are at appropriate stock levels.
- Complete daily cleaning list.
Health & Safety:
- Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits following, Safety and Environment policies, wear protective clothing provided where necessary and take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment.
- Use and store heated appliances/tools appropriately and safely.
- Maintain procedures to minimize our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
- Report any health or safety hazards, faults, repairs, cleaning needs and accidents and record on the appropriate Accident Report form immediately following accident. Abide by Rehabilitation policy.
- Be fully conversant with Salon fire and evacuation procedures.
- Follow RSA rules and regulations by the NSW Liquor licensing.
Customer Service:
- Provide efficient, friendly and professional service to all Clients.
- Lead by example when attending to Clients requests.
- Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our Clients and stakeholders (internal or external) are positive and productive.
- Work together with trust so that colleagues and management meet the goals of the business.
- Treat Clients and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect, sensitivity and transparency.
- Take every opportunity to be a “salesperson” by active selling of special promotions and facilities available from the business.
Other:
- Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
- Participate in scheduled training and development programs provided by the Business.

- Any other reasonable request within your range of competence as required by your supervisor
Skills required:
- Certificate IV in Hairdressing + 1 year of full-time relevant experience OR 3 years of full-time relevant experience
- Exceptional Customer Service and Consultation Skills.
- Strong Client Relationship Management and Client Retention Skills
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
