Disability Support Worker (Male Staff Only)
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Disability Support Worker to support a participant located in Caroline Springs. The ideal candidate will provide person-centred care and assist the participant in achieving greater independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily living support in a respectful and professional manner
- Assist with personal care, grooming, hygiene, dressing, and mobility support as required
- Support the participant with household tasks including meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Assist with medication prompts and health-related routines when required
- Support community access activities such as shopping, appointments, social outings, and recreational programs
- Encourage independence, confidence, and skill development aligned with the participant’s goals
- Build positive and supportive relationships with the participant and their family/carers
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation
- Follow all NDIS guidelines, workplace policies, and duty of care responsibilities
- Ensure participant dignity, privacy, and confidentiality are always maintained
Essential Requirements
- Male support worker preferred due to participant care requirements
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, mental health, or community services
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or related field (preferred)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Working With Children Check (if applicable)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
- Manual handling experience
- Medication administration training
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an advantage
