We are now looking to recruit Welder to join our dedicated and professional service team on a full time and permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricates and repairs metal products using various welding techniques.
Duties:
- Studying blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and welding procedures.
- Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal materials and stock for fabrication and welding.
- Marking out, cutting, and shaping metal sections and components using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machinery.
- Shaping and bending metal sections, plates, and pipes using hand tools, machine tools, and heat-forming techniques.
- Aligning, positioning, and securing components to be joined using hand tools, measuring instruments, clamps, and fixtures.
- Joining metal sections and components using a range of welding techniques.
- Monitoring welding operations and adjusting welding parameters to ensure weld quality, strength, and compliance with specifications.
- Examining completed welds to assess bead width, penetration, alignment, and precision, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Finishing fabricated products by cleaning, polishing, filing, grinding, and applying appropriate surface treatment processes.
- Cleaning and smoothing welded surfaces through filing, chiselling, grinding, and other finishing techniques to achieve required specifications and presentation standards.
- Inspecting completed work and identifying defects or non-conformances, performing repairs and rework as necessary.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment while adhering to workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training
- AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience
Experience:
- At least three years of relevant experience.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills within fabrication and welding operations.
- Good written communication and report writing skills.
- Commitment to safe operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
