Are you an experienced telecommunications professional with strong knowledge of NBN standards, copper and fibre networks, and a passion for quality and continuous improvement?
This is an excellent opportunity to work autonomously while being part of a collaborative and supportive team within a major national organisation. Ideally you will be based in Townsville, however candidates located throughout Northern Queensland will be considered, including Cairns and Rockhampton regions. Regular travel within your region will be required, with occasional travel further afield as needed.

About the Role
As a Quality Auditor, you will be responsible for auditing completed and in-progress telecommunications works, ensuring installations meet NBN quality and compliance standards. You will work closely with field technicians, subcontractors, supervisors, and clients, providing coaching, guidance and technical expertise to improve quality outcomes across the network. This role offers a blend of desktop audits conducted remotely, field audits of completed installations, live audits alongside technicians and joint NBN audits conducted in the field. You will also be responsible for identifying quality trends, recurring defects and opportunities for improvement.
You will also play a role in supporting training programs, coaching, mentoring and providing technical guidance to internal technicians and subcontractors and where required complete Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments and practical evaluations.
Other duties include preparing quality reports and providing recommendations to stakeholders and maintaining accurate records across quality and reporting systems.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential that you have the ability to confidently work independently and manage your own schedule along with -

Certificate III in Telecommunications or equivalent qualification

Strong telecommunications industry experience with demonstrated knowledge of NBN standards and build requirements

Technical expertise in both copper and fibre networks

Understanding of cabling standards and installation practices

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Highly Desirable

Previous auditing experience or auditing qualifications

Experience conducting field-based quality inspections

Experience coaching or training telecommunications technicians

Relevant telecommunications certifications and cabling licences

Working knowledge of Power BI, Excel, PowerApps, NBN SMAX, Novus or similar systems
