Position Purpose
The role combines ownership of the College's alumni engagement program and significant involvement in partnership activities, while also contributing across content creation, events, stakeholder engagement and project delivery. It is suited to someone who enjoys variety, moves comfortably between tasks and is motivated by building relationships.
The successful candidate will join an established team and work collaboratively across disciplines, contributing their own expertise while supporting the broader delivery of the College's communications and engagement objectives.
The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and self-starter who brings energy to relationship-building, takes ownership of their responsibilities and contributes positively to the team's collective success.
Relationships and Authority
This role reports directly to the Manager of Communications & Engagement and works collaboratively with staff across the College, as well as alumni, sponsors, partners and members of the wider community.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own workload, exercise initiative and take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities. Guidance, support and direction will be provided through regular communication with the Manager of Communications & Engagement to ensure priorities and objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the College's alumni engagement program, including communications, events, database management and relationship-building initiatives.

Support the development and management of sponsorship and partnership opportunities, including prospect research, outreach coordination, relationship management and fulfilment of partnership benefits.

Create engaging content for the College's communication channels, including social media, website, publications and newsletters.

Capture photography and video content to support College communications objectives, including event-based coverage.

Support the planning, promotion and delivery of College events and community engagement initiatives.

Build and maintain positive relationships with alumni, sponsors, partners and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Coordinate communication and promotional requests, working collaboratively with team members to support the delivery of projects and campaigns.

Monitor, maintain and update content across relevant digital platforms and communication channels.

Ensure brand consistency across all communications and promotional materials produced or coordinated by the role.

Maintain accurate records relating to alumni, sponsorship, partnership and engagement activities.

Undertake other duties as reasonably directed by the Manager of Communications & Engagement.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
-
Qualifications in communications, public relations, business or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Demonstrated experience in a communications, engagement or stakeholder relations role.

Excellent editing, proofreading, and written communication skills with attention to audience tone and voice with strength in copywriting.

Experience coordinating projects and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Experience managing digital communication channels, including social media platforms.

Demonstrated photography skills and the ability to capture high-quality content for communication purposes.

High-level organisational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while operating independently when required.

Availability and flexibility to work outside standard hours, within reason, to fulfil role responsibilities and attend College events as required.

Current Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
Desirable

Experience within an education environment.

Experience managing alumni, sponsorship, partnership or fundraising initiatives.

Experience using project management (Monday), CRM or stakeholder relationship management systems.
