Where you'll be working
SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island. Our staff also deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.
What you'll be doing
The Staff Health Service is responsible for ;
- Maintenance of VaxLink data
- Recruitment – occupational screening and immunisation clearance reviews
- Vaccination – staff health assessments, boosters, updates and education
- Influenza and other vaccination campaigns
- Skin assessments
- Cytotoxic monitoring
- Occupational exposure management, counselling and follow-up
- Phone counselling to staff for illness, exposures and vaccination
- Advice to managers on infectious disease exposures and staff vaccination
- Implementation of targeted interventions to improve OASV and the service

Selection Criteria:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, and current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to utilise as required for the position
- Authorised Nurse Immuniser as recognised by NSW Health with 5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
- Ability to be able to recognise and respond to adverse events following vaccination
- A detailed understanding of PD2026_004 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
