Afoods Pty Ltd T/A Amin’s Butcher and Grill is a premium halal butcher and grill based in West End, Queensland. We specialise in gourmet meats, specialty sausages, marinated cuts, roasts, and authentic grill dishes including mixed grills, burgers, ribs, and steaks. Known for our quality products and exceptional customer service, we are growing and looking for a skilled Butcher to join our team.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Butcher who is passionate about quality meat preparation and customer service. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment and has strong traditional and modern butchery skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meat for sale by boning, trimming, cutting, mincing, grinding, and portioning meat products.
- Prepare marinated, seasoned, crumbed, and cured meat products according to recipes and customer requirements.
- Produce smallgoods and specialty meat items.
- Operate butchery equipment including grinders, mixers, tenderisers, sausage filling machines, smoking chambers, and cooking kettles.
- Ensure meat products meet quality, freshness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Package, label, and display products professionally for retail sale.
- Provide customers with advice on meat selection, preparation, and cooking methods.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with WHS and food safety regulations.
- Assist with stock control, menu planning, scheduling, and estimating food production costs.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth daily operations.
Skills & Experience
- AQF Certificate III or IV in Meat Processing or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a butcher in a retail or commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of meat preparation, processing, and smallgoods production.
- Ability to safely operate commercial butchery equipment.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
