About the role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Painter to join our growing team at McPherson Painting Pty Ltd in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for providing high-quality painting services to our diverse range of commercial and residential clients.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces using a variety of techniques and materials
- Preparing surfaces by removing old paint or wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling cracks and holes, sanding and sealing surfaces prior to painting.
- Selecting, mixing and preparing paints, varnishes and stains to achieve required colours and finishes.
- Completing all painting tasks to an exceptional standard, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray
- Erecting and dismantling ladders and scaffolding where required to safely access work areas.
- Operating painting equipment safely and effectively
- Assisting clients with paint and finish selections to achieve desired project outcomes.
- Hanging wallpaper and applying decorative finishes where required.
- Collaborating with the project management team to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Cleaning and maintaining painting equipment and work areas.
- Adhering to all health, safety and quality standards
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a qualified Painter, with at least 1 year in a similar role
- Strong technical knowledge of painting techniques, materials and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent in reading and interpreting job specifications and plans
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations
