GSES’ Consulting team delivers strategic renewable energy services for Federal, State, and Local Government as well as Corporate Enterprise. These services include techno-economic analysis, procurement, quality assurance, digital asset management and operational optimisation for Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure.
About the Role
This role has a strong focus on data science, automation and digital systems engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with GSES’ software and systems to develop and refine internal tools, workflows and integrations that improve operational efficiency, automate tasks and support scalable business growth.
The role will involve working with APIs, scripting, web applications and AI-assisted workflows to connect data streams, streamline processes and improve data visibility across engineering, compliance and operational activities.
Experience in, or a strong willingness to learn about, the renewable energy industry is highly desirable, as the role may also involve supporting the Consulting Team on existing projects across Solar PV, BESS and EV infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Refine the project process including finding or creating new tools and systems that yield a better and more efficient service offering
- Develop and maintain scripts, automations and integrations to streamline internal workflows and operational processes
- Work with APIs, databases and web-based systems to connect engineering, monitoring and business platforms
- Develop and implement AI-assisted workflows and automation tools to improve scalability and operational efficiency
- Assist with data analysis, dashboarding, reporting and the management of large technical datasets relating to renewable energy assets and compliance activities
- Ensure projects are delivered to clients on-time, on-budget and with exceptional quality
- Maintain expert knowledge in the areas of Solar PV, BESS and EV Charging technology and economics including modelling, practical implementation and monitoring
- Liaise with subcontractors proactively to manage site works (e.g. site inspections, system audits, commissioning activities, etc.)
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with automation tools, data pipelines, cloud platforms or AI-assisted workflows is highly desirable
- Experience with SQL, databases, data analytics or business intelligence platforms is advantageous
- Relevant industry experience or tertiary qualification
- Experience within the Renewable Energy Sector is desired
- An engineering degree, computer science degree, data science qualification or equivalent practical experience is preferred
- Commercially minded, conscientious and self-motivated
- Exceptional customer relationship and communication skills
- Previous Business Development experience is desirable

Pay: $60,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
