What You'll Do
Based in Adelaide or Brisbane and reporting to the Head of Business Integrity & Dispute Resolution, you'll lead Santos' global whistleblower and misconduct investigation program, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and governance standards. You will:
- Lead complex investigations into fraud, corruption, misconduct, regulatory breaches and workplace conduct matters.
- Manage whistleblower disclosures and act as a nominated Eligible Recipient.
- Prepare robust investigation reports, findings and recommendations for senior leaders and Board committees.
- Engage with regulators and external advisers on investigative and compliance matters.
- Oversee evidence gathering, witness interviews and investigation planning.
- Identify conduct and integrity risks, recommend control improvements and support a strong speak-up culture across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and company management systems.
What You'll Bring
You are a senior legal and investigations professional with extensive experience managing complex integrity, compliance and misconduct matters in highly regulated environments. You will bring:
- 10 years plus post-qualification legal experience across investigations, litigation, compliance and corporate governance.
- Proven experience leading complex workplace and corporate misconduct investigations.
- Strong knowledge of Australian whistleblower legislation and corporate governance frameworks.
- Experience within a major law firm, ASX-listed company, regulated entity or similar complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and preparing executive and Board-level reports.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical judgement, professionalism and commitment to confidentiality.
- Tertiary qualification in Law.
- Admitted as a legal practitioner in an Australian or similar common law jurisdiction with a current practicing certificate.
