Sports Coach — Handball Australia (4-Square / Schoolyard Handball)
Casual | $15–$60/hr depending on experience & qualifications | Sydney-wide
Love working with kids and want a job that doesn't feel like one? Handball Australia is looking for energetic, reliable coaches to deliver our 4-square handball programs across Sydney — in schools, holiday camps, OSHC centres, birthday parties, and private lessons.
What you'll be doing
· Coaching and engaging kids mostly 5-12year olds in a fast-paced, fun version of schoolyard handball
· Running sessions at school programs, holiday camps, weekend birthday parties, and Sunday tournaments
· Full training and ongoing support provided — no coaching experience required, but it's a bonus
Hours
· Weekdays: 3:30pm–6pm (school programs)
· Weekends: Sunday tournaments, Saturday/Sunday birthday parties
· School holidays: 8am–3pm (holiday camps)
Flexible casual shifts — pick up as many or as few as suit you
Coach Pay Guide Rate (per hr + Super)
Trainee Coach
$[award minimum]–$18 Entry-level, limited experience. Typically suits school Working alongside senior coaches to learn the program.
Assistant Coach
$18–$24 1+ years' experience with Handball Australia, university student. Trained and confident running activities under supervision.
Junior Coach
$24–$35 2+ years' experience, capable of independently running own shifts and sessions. Permanent Part time shifts
Senior Coach
$30–$45 3+ years' experience, fully autonomous, may mentor junior staff and take on program leadership.
Manager
$45-$60 5+ years' experience, admin, traveling around Australia. Developing programs
What we're looking for
· Great with kids — patient, encouraging, and able to motivate a group
· Energetic, punctual, and reliable (this is non-negotiable — schools and parents are counting on you)
· A genuine role model for young participants
· Valid driver's licence and access to a car (not essential) as you'll be travelling to different sites across Sydney
· Current Working With Children Check (Essential)
· First Aid certificate (not essential)
