What you'll be doing
The Advanced Colorectal Surgical SRMO position is designed to benefit a junior doctor who wishes to pursue a career in general surgery. The position involves 12 months of advanced colorectal surgery, with a 6 month rotation focusing on the peritonectomy program and a 6 month rotation with a focus on pelvic exenteration surgery. There is also exposure to all other aspects of colorectal surgery during the year. The position will provide effective surgical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.
Research is encouraged but not required. Informal teaching or undergraduate medical students, interns and nurses is expected. Departmental audits, case presentations and lectures may also be required.
This position is based at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Colorectal Department, including management of patients admitted under the Colorectal team at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
