About the Role
As a Subsurface Utility Locator, you’ll locate and map underground infrastructure using EM and GPR technology - helping prevent damage, protect communities, and keep projects running safely.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct Subsurface Utility Investigations: Utilise electromagnetic (EM) and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) equipment to detect and map underground utilities.
- Interpret Utility Plans and Records: Analyse existing utility documentation to inform and guide field investigations.
- Collaborate with Clients and Project Teams: Engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide accurate utility information.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document findings through detailed reports, sketches, and digital records, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Operate and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all locating equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate results.
- Stay Updated with Industry Practices: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to keep abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in utility locating.

Skills & Experience

Certloc Locator (or willingness to obtain)
- 2+ years in utility locating or similar role
- Valid Driver’s Licence & White Card
- First Aid & CPR (preferred)
- Western Power, ATCO & APA certifications (preferred)
- GPR, Confined Space & Gas Atmosphere training (advantageous)
