About the Team
Telstra Business Sales is a growth engine for Telstra, focused on providing business customers of all sizes with industry-based services and solutions.
We meet a critical need in the market – combining connectivity infrastructure across the world with the leading technology solutions and expertise.
The Telstra Business Technology Centre channel is a unique component of the Telstra Business Sales segment. The channel is comprised of 25 physical locations across Australia. The TBTCs provide customers with flexibility of visiting on site, over the phone, via email or video conference, with one, consistent Account Manager for all of their needs. This is extremely unique compared to other channels and creates an exciting role for those interested in business account management.
What You’ll Do
As a BTA, you use your excellent customer service skills, relationship management and technical acumen to deliver against the following responsibilities:
- Leverage substantial expertise and experience as a subject matter expert to recommend Telstra’s Business products and solutions to customer portfolio. Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders to identify new business opportunities.
- Gather relevant sources of information and insights from internal and external stakeholders to provide advice and consultation regarding development of customer solutions.
- Apply a breadth of knowledge gained via industry trends and competitive marketplace analysis to provide input into multi-product customer deals and accordingly develop business strategies for revenue generation.
- Make a strong contribution to the development of compelling proposals, relating to the value proposition for customer offers, while maintaining the protection of Telstra’s commercial interests and ensuring business plans continue to meet company goals.
- Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to participate in or advise on commercial / solution requirements, assist in new solution introduction, development, management and release activities.
- Provide expert guidance on the effective use of technology and solutions in order to achieve business outcomes in alignment with business requirements.
- Support the broader TBTC Account management team with technical support and knowledge
- Meet individual and team sales and performance KPIs
About You
Essential requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Account Executive, or similar client-facing sales role.
- Strong background in selling IT solutions, technology services, cloud, software, or digital transformation solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers through a consultative sales approach.
- Comfortable conducting regular in-person customer meetings and relationship-building activities.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a face-to-face B2B sales environment.
- Experience working for or selling solutions similar to organisations such as Microsoft, technology vendors, IT consultancies, or managed service providers will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Results-driven with a proven track record of achieving sales and business growth objectives.
