Assistant Store Manager – IGA Supermarket
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to join our IGA supermarket team. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5 years of supermarket or grocery retail experience who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high store standards, and delivering excellent customer service.
About the Role
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the daily operations of the store and help ensure everything runs smoothly. You will work closely with the team to maintain excellent store presentation, stock availability, customer service, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of the store
- Ensure shelves are well stocked and replenished on time
- Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and markdowns
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, ticketing, and merchandising
- Monitor shrinkage and wastage to achieve store targets
- Prepare team rosters to meet business needs
- Train, coach, and support team members
- Lead by example and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised store environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies and workplace health and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of supermarket or grocery retail experience
- Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience with stock ordering, inventory control, and cost management
- Good understanding of gross profit and retail operations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for customer service and store presentation
- Ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members
- Hands-on approach with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
